PROUDLY FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED BY BOB
& ANNA TRONCO WILLIAMS & FAMILY
The History of Lizard's Thicket
Lizard's Thicket, a
family owned and operated country cooking restaurant dedicated and
specializing in authentic regional southern home cooking (at reasonable
prices), was first opened by Bob and Anna Williams in Columbia, South
Carolina in 1977.
The idea of country home cooking was conceived as a much needed service
to local people, who are eating out more and more due to the changing
lifestyles of families and young adults. (With mother and father both
working, who has time to cook?)

The original Lizard's
Thicket was a 5 room house converted into a restaurant with 3 small
dining rooms and a small kitchen.
Today we have grown into a multi-unit operation with well over 600
employees including Bob and Anna's seven children and several other
family members.
It is our belief that this family dedication and pride in providing the
best quality food, authentic preparation, customer service, and dollar
value has made Lizard's Thicket so successful! |
| It is our pledge to you that the Williams
family and Lizard's Thicket will continue to provide our guests with the finest
and tastiest food in country cooking. |

Y'all Come!

|
| Our most frequent question at the
restaurant is "Where did Lizard's Thicket get its name?" The answer is
a very simple one. Bob and Anna casually heard the name while living in Alabama
over 20 years ago! It was so country that it had to be the name for their
"country cooking" concept when they returned home to Columbia in 1977.
It was a great choice! |
